Scooter Thomas Makes it to the Top of the World

Scooter Thomas Makes it to the Top of the World by Peter Parnell was produced by Colorado College's Theatre Workshop and directed by myself with the assistance of Luke Bleckman. The artistic direction, set design and build was led by myself. As capstone project for my minor, I explored three different set designs and created three black models.

The play is told by Dennis who receives a call from his mother telling him that his best friend from boyhood, Scooter Thomas, has died. Shaken, Dennis packs for the funeral and recalls their relationship in a series of brief, poignant scenes, during which he plays both himself and other characters from his past. The play looks at the choices we make when youthful expectations meet the realities of adulthood.​
